A year ago, my 84 - year - old mother died of illness. She was drawn several years before she died. She owned the real estate I grew up in Napa, California. Before she left everything in her family's trust, she took a special step in months. My brother died about 8 months ago. That was all for me.
When it became clear that I did not come home after emergency surgery, I began to remember all the necessary documents. She will be part of the trust document as well as Do-Not-Resuscitate order (her DNR). Trusts were funded by assets and acts on several medium sized bank accounts. When she passed, I contacted her lawyer. She contacted the lawyer and the lawyer worked as a custodian of the document. She is now my lawyer. The law states that nothing can happen for 41 days unless the trustee dies. Meanwhile, I became a trustee and kept its title until everything was confirmed.
Although there was not much more than the property. I carefully distributed it lawfully in the manner she chose. The granddaughter shared income from the stock of the utility company and half of the joint account with the mother. Property and the remaining account went to me.
