Perhaps unthinkable abuse occurs every day. It is quite common in nursing homes, but it happens even for the elderly. They are home attended by carers and other families.

This is a symptom to worry about if you think that a person who is paying attention to your parents, grandparents, or neighbors is the victim of the abuse of the old man.

1) Frequent tension or discussion between elderly people and caregivers.

Sexual abuse

  • Scratches of sensitive body parts
  • Unknown genital infection or venereal disease
  • Ripped or dirty clothes

Neglect

  • Abnormal weight loss, dehydration, malnutrition
  • Non hygienic or insecure living conditions
  • It remains dirty or the physical state is untreated

What would you do if you doubt the elder abuse

Please report as soon as there are signs of strong warning or suspected elderly injured. If you think you are in danger soon, please do not hesitate to call 911 or the local police. If there is no immediate danger, but abuse is occurring or has occurred, please contact the State's Adult Protection Service (APS) where the elderly live.
